Important Information for Consumers Who Selected Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • If you enrolled in coverage effective January 1, 2014, you should have received your invoice.  If you make payment within 10 days of receiving your invoice, your coverage will be effective on 1/1/14.
  • If you received your premium invoice and made payment, but have not yet received an ID card, your coverage is in effect.  You will receive ID cards over the next several days.  You can access a temporary ID card via the Empire website within 24 hours after Empire receives your payment.
  • If you were previously enrolled in another plan through Empire and received an invoice that was not for the plan you selected through the Marketplace, you should have received a new invoice that includes any tax credits you qualified for.
  • Healthy NY members. A special notice has been sent to Healthy NY members who were automatically enrolled into an Off Marketplace plan explaining their options and clarifying any premium invoices which have been received.
