On July 29, 2015, NY State of Health released demographic enrollment data on the more than 2.1 million New Yorkers who enrolled in a health plan through the Marketplace through February 28, 2015, the end of the open enrollment period. The data show that enrollment through the Marketplace increased more than two-fold, more than 89 percent of enrollees reported being uninsured at the time of application, enrollment occurred in every county in the state and across all health plan
On July 1, 2015, New York State formally submitted its selection of its Essential Health Benefits benchmark plan to Health and Human Services. New York has selected the benefits of the State's largest small group plan, Oxford EPO, as the benchmark plan for 2017.
