Customer Service Center Hours Extended
ALBANY, N.Y. (January 10, 2018) - NY State of Health, the state’s official health plan Marketplace, today announced participation in Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day events being held in Albany, Brooklyn and Rochester. Certified in-person assistors will be on-site to talk with consumers about health plan options and distribute educational materials about enrolling through the Marketplace.
With the open enrollment deadline of January 31st fast approaching, the Marketplace also announced that its Customer Service Center will have extended hours during the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend and during the final weekend before the January 31st deadline. Available at 1-855-355-5777, Customer Service Center representatives can enroll consumers in health plans over the phone, assist with website enrollments and answer questions.
“Events celebrating the Birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. give us the chance to honor his legacy by ensuring that New Yorkers have access to health care,” said NY State of Health Executive Director Donna Frescatore. “Enrollment in Qualified Health Plans runs through January 31st and extended Customer Service Center hours make the holiday weekend a great time to complete the enrollment process.”

NY State of Health enrollment remains strong into the new year. Enrollment has reached over 4.2 million, with more than one in five New Yorkers having health coverage, Enrollment in a Qualified Health Plan continues through January 31, 2018. After that date, individuals can enroll in a Qualified Health Plan only if they have a life event such as loss of coverage, marriage or birth of a child that qualifies them for a Special Enrollment Period. Enrollment in Medicaid, Child Health Plus and the Essential Plan continues throughout the year.
