Press Release: NY State of Health Provides Access to Affordable Health Coverage at Museums Across New York State

Certified Enrollment Assistors On-Site at Museums During Spring Break

ALBANY, NY (April 12, 2019) – NY State of Health, the state’s official health plan Marketplace, today announced in-person assistors will be available at 10 museums across New York State from April 15- April 27, 2019, while many public schools, colleges and universities are on Spring Break. Assistors will be on-site to answer visitors’ questions about enrolling in a health plan through the Marketplace.

“Partnering with family-friendly museums allows us to educate parents, caregivers and even museum employees about low-cost, quality health coverage,” said NY State of Health Executive Director Donna Frescatore. “Our museum partners continue to be supportive of our efforts to provide affordable health insurance coverage, and we thank them once again for giving us the opportunity to meet with those who visit and work at these museums.”

“Museums are important community anchors that not only gather and reflect a community’s history and culture but serve as gathering place where people can come together and share information,” said Museum Association of New York Executive Director Erika Sanger. “We are delighted that NY State of Health is partnering with museums to share critical information about the Marketplace and how it can contribute to the health and wellness of our communities.”
