CVS, Kinney Drugs and TOPS Markets host NY State of Health free informational events in neighborhoods across New York State
Albany, N.Y. (December 03, 2015) – NY State of Health (NYSOH), the state’s official health plan Marketplace, is partnering with CVS Pharmacy, Kinney Drugs and TOPS Markets to educate New Yorkers about their affordable health coverage options. During open enrollment, now through January 31, NY State of Health will hold more than 100 informational events at dozens of pharmacy locations across the State.
“We’re pleased to partner with New York’s pharmacy retailers to hold educational events in our neighborhoods to let consumers know how easy it is to get a good, low-cost health plan through the Marketplace,” said NYSOH Executive Director Donna Frescatore. “This year, with the introduction of the new Essential Plan, the Marketplace will provide New Yorkers with even greater access to affordable health coverage.”
NY State of Health offers a choice of Qualified Health Plans to residents in every county of the state. The Essential Plan, available for many eligible lower-income New Yorkers through NY State of Health, will lower premiums to $20 or less a month and provide comprehensive benefits for hundreds of thousands of lower income New Yorkers. Information about the Essential Plan will be available at the NY State of Health events held at various New York locations on the following dates through January. In-person assistors will be available at these events to provide free information, answer questions about coverage through the marketplace, and help people to apply.
