The enactment of the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act in December 2022 decoupled the Public Health Emergency from continuous coverage requirements for public programs and set new rules for states. The changes mean that New York State, in partnership with the local departments of social services, will soon begin an enormous task: recertifying eligibility for over 9 million fellow New Yorkers in the Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and Essential Plan programs starting in March and continuing through May 2024.
To help prepare for this extraordinary effort, UHF is convening a roundtable discussion with government officials, health plan representatives, provider groups, consumer advocates, and funders. The agenda will feature presentations by key New York State officials on the ‘unwinding’ plan, and will include opportunities for Q&A.
The roundtable will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 10:15 AM to 1:15 PM at United Hospital Fund — Board Room, 1411 Broadway, 12th Floor, New York, NY 10018 (between West 39th and West 40th streets).
